This piece of carbon fiber is then placed into a mold to achieve its shape and vacuum-sealed to cure, known as the autoclave process. This method is used to manufacture the purest form of carbon fiber parts. This produces the lightest and highest-quality product as opposed to a "wet" production method, which typically uses ABS plastic or fiberglass. The autoclave vacuuming process enables fewer pinholes and eliminates air pockets on the carbon fiber part. Dry carbon is the highest-quality version of carbon fiber products that are produced.
