Dry carbon fiber is a manufacturing process produced by using a "pre-preg" or impregnated piece of carbon fiber material. This piece of carbon fiber is then placed into a mold to achieve its shape and vacuumed sealed to cure, known as the autoclave process. This method is the used to manufacture the purest form of carbon fiber parts. This produces the lightest and highest-quality product as opposed to a "wet" production method, which typically uses ABS plastic or fiberglass. The autoclave vacuuming process allows for fewer pinholes and zero air pockets on the carbon fiber part. Dry carbon is the highest-quality version of carbon fiber products that are produced.
