The newest addition to our BMW F8X M2C, M3 and F82 M4 Collection, these F8X downpipes, is a true testament to our outlook on creating innovative products with performance in mind.
The F8X downpipes are strategically engineered to virtually eliminate the immensely restrictive characteristics of the factory F87 M2C, F80 M3 and F82 M4 downpipes therefore reducing radiant heat and increasing performance.
Our initial prototype design didn't include the flex joints you see in the images above. Without these flex joints, the prototypes created an annoying vibration from within the cabin. We quickly realized the necessity of including flex joints into the design and went back to the drawing board. The works of art you see above are a culmination of years of experience engineering top-notch BMW exhaust products.
Made from 1.3-1.5mm thick 304 stainless steel, our F87 M2C, F80 M3 and F82 M4 downpipes can also be finished with a performance enhancing, ceramic coating from Swain Tech Coatings for an additional charge. Developed for precise fitment on both the F87 M2C, F80 M3 and F82 BMW M4, the difference in performance will be noticeable the moment you leave your driveway!

OPTIONAL WHITE LIGHTNING EXHAUST COATING
Unlike many of the cosmetic exhaust coatings, Swain Tech Coatingu2019s White Lightning Exhaust Coating is a REAL ceramic coating an exceptional insulating material. Since White Lightning is such a great insulating material, it is applied nearly five times thicker than a cosmetic coating. Additionally, White Lightning has performance enhancing benefits that cannot be matched by other cosmetic exhaust coatings.
Applied in a molten state, the ceramic coating bonds directly to the exhaust component. Typically a White Lightning coating can reduce radiant heat by roughly 35-55% - thus reducing engine bay and intake air temperatures.
A 10 F reduction in intake air temperature provides a 1% increase in horsepower. A 30 F reduction equates to a 3% horsepower increase. u00a0Swain Tech Coatings
Furthermore, the insulating properties of the coating keep exhaust gases at the highest temperature possible creating greater exhaust gas velocity and higher efficiency. With the melting point of the White Lightning coating being over 3,000 F, you will not have to worry about damaging the coating.
The most remarkable feature of the White Lightning coating is how quickly it dissipates heat. Less than an hour after running hard, the downpipes will be cool to the touch allowing you to work around them without being concerned about scalding yourself.
